Day 2: The Coastal Charms (Mumbai) - Start your morning at the iconic Gateway of India. Take a short ferry ride to the ancient, rock-cut Elephanta Caves. In the afternoon, visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (Prince of Wales Museum) and stroll down the Colaba Causeway for shopping.
Day 3: The Heritage Hub and Forts (Pune) – Take a morning train—such as the famous Deccan Queen—or drive (~3 hours) to Pune. Check in and visit Shaniwar Wada, the historic seat of the Peshwas. Spend the evening exploring the Osho International Meditation Resort or grab a bite at the vibrant cafes in Koregaon Park.
Day 4: Mountain Mist (Lonavala) – Travel by road to Lonavala (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours from Pune). Spend the day visiting the nearby Karla Caves and the historic Lohagad Fort. Don't forget to try the local specialty: hot, fresh Chikki (a sweet nut brittle).
Day 5: Spiritual Serenity (Shirdi and Nashik) – Start early and drive from Lonavala to Shirdi (approx. 4 - 5 hours). Visit the revered Shri Saibaba Sansthan Temple for the afternoon darshan. In the evening, drive 1.5 hours further to Nashik, the wine capital of India, and check into your hotel.
Day 6: River Ghats and Ancient Roots (Nashik) – Spiritual Immersion – Take an early morning boat ride on the Ganges River to view sunrise rituals. Visit the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Excursion to Sarnath (10 km away), where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. See the ancient Dhamekh Stupa. Shop for famous Banarasi silk sarees at local weavers' markets.
Day 7: UNESCO Cave Wonders (Aurangabad) – Take a morning drive or train to Aurangabad (approx. 3.5 - 4 hours). Spend the entire day mesmerized by the Ajanta Caves, famous for their ancient Buddhist murals. Return to Aurangabad in the evening to see the mini-Taj, the Bibi Ka Maqbara.
